Welcome to the Kurokawa Lab

At Kent State University in Ohio, a major goal of our lab is to understand the mechanisms that regulate tissue development and cellular homeostasis. Why does a normal healthy cell become cancerous? How can cancer cells acquire drug resistance? How does dysregulation of a gene cause a disease? We employ mouse models together with molecular and biochemical techniques to tackle these questions.
